Manufacturing Engineer

SummaryThis engineering position is responsible to support product production in the plant and reports to the Plant Engineering Manager. The manufacturing engineer works both independently and as a part of a team to maintain and improve processes and systems used in manufacturing. In addition, manufacturing engineers function as specialists and subject matter experts for technical planning throughout the facility.Key ResponsibilitiesDevelops, improves, and monitors standards, processes, and performance to reduce costs and improve production operationsAnalyze production data to identify bottlenecks, quality improvements, and cost-reduction opportunitiesProvides objective, functional, and financial engineering guidance on capital expenditures to site management and implementation supportDevelop and maintain SOPs and Work InstructionsProvides lean manufacturing guidance to operations through coordination with the site Lean ManagerInvestigate production issues using a systematic approach to root cause and corrective actions (8D problem solving methodology)Other duties as assignedKey Skills And CompetenciesPreferred candidates will have prior experience within a manufacturing environment, knowledge of lean manufacturing is a plus. Must be able to effectively communicate with all levels of plant personnel. Demonstrate proficiency within welding and assembly processes, coordinating work activities and managing multiple tasks and priorities is a requirement.Education And Experience RequirementsBachelor’s degree in engineering or Associates degree in a technical field with equivalent technical experienceExcellent communication, interpersonal and teamwork skillsThorough knowledge of manufacturing conceptsExperience within a lean manufacturing environment preferredProven 8D problem-solving experienceThis position description is not intended to be an exhaustive list of all duties, responsibilities and competencies required of this position.
