Chief Digital Officer
Position Summary:The Chief Digital Officer (CDO) is responsible for the strategic planning, development, and execution of all technology initiatives across the organization. This position provides leadership to ensure that the company’s IT systems, data infrastructure, and information security framework align with operational goals and growth objectives. The CDO plays a critical role in strengthening cybersecurity defenses, improving system reliability, and fostering technological innovation across all departments. This role requires a hands-on leader with deep technical expertise, strategic vision, and the ability to build collaborative partnerships across executive, operational, and administrative teams.Job Duties:Technology Strategy and Leadership:Develop and implement a comprehensive technology roadmap that supports company goals.Lead digital transformation efforts that enhance operational efficiency and customer experience.Evaluate emerging technologies to maintain competitive advantage in data, systems, and automation.Serve as a key member of the executive team, advising on technological opportunities and risks.Pricing ProductsDefines value-based pricing, discount policies, and governance models aligned with growth and margin goals.Uses elasticity modeling, segmentation, and optimization to drive dynamic, customer-centric pricing.Integrates pricing, promotions, mix, and channel strategies to maximize topline and profitability.Translates data into actionable insights for sales, marketing, and finance teams.Data ProductsCommercially accountable for adoption and monetization performanceOwns the vision for data as a strategic asset, including platforms, governance, and monetization.Ensures trusted, compliant, and consistent data across pricing, customers, products, and operations.Builds scalable analytics teams, product ownership, and agile delivery models.Information Security and Risk Management:Establish and maintain enterprise-level cybersecurity policies and protocols.Oversee threat assessments, incident response, and data privacy compliance.Ensure protection of sensitive data, systems, and intellectual property.Manage vendor relationships related to information security, penetration testing, and monitoring services.Systems and Infrastructure Management:Direct the design, implementation, and maintenance of the company’s IT infrastructure and ERP, CRM, and digital environment (in addition to pricing and data platforms).Oversee system upgrades, network performance, and cloud computing strategies.Ensure operational continuity through strong backup, disaster recovery, and business continuity plans.Collaborate with departments to optimize data flow, reporting, and integration of business systems.Drives simplification, standardization, and modernization to improve speed and reduce cost.Team Leadership and Development:Build, mentor, and lead high-performing technology and cybersecurity teams.Develop and manage departmental budgets, ensuring efficient use of resources.Promote a culture of accountability, innovation, and continuous improvement.Provide guidance and training to ensure staff remain current on best practices and emerging risks.Product Mindset – Lead business – technology translations that bridges the business and technology gaps and drives enablement of functional business teamsVendor and Budget Oversight:Negotiate contracts with hardware, software, and service providers.Ensure cost-effective procurement and licensing strategies.Monitor budget performance and prioritize technology investments for long-term return.QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Cybersecurity, or a related field required; Master’s preferred.10+ years of progressive IT leadership experience with a proven record in technology strategy and operations.Demonstrated expertise in cybersecurity, data protection, and compliance frameworks (NIST, ISO 27001, SOC 2).Strong knowledge of ERP systems, network management, and cloud infrastructure.Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.Ability to work collaboratively with executive leadership and cross-functional teams.Experience within distribution, logistics, or manufacturing environments preferred.
