Chief Engineer - Seaward Services - Guam

Salary: $1024.08 dailySeaward Services is seeking a Chief Engineer for our USNS Guam operation.About the Opportunity:The Chief Engineer is responsible for the overall operation and maintenance of the engineering department.. This includes overseeing the engine room, auxiliary equipment, routine maintenance programs, and responding to emergencies. The Chief Engineer must have a strong understanding of marine engineering principles and be able to work effectively with a team of engineers and technicians.Essential Duties & Responsibilities:Managing technical maintenance and the safe, efficient, economical operation of all her machineryEstablishing all the engine room proceduresAssigning the engineering/technical department jobsMaintaining sufficient bunkers and other essential engine-related stores and consumablesManaging for the safe and efficient loading and transferring of bunkersManaging the day to day running of all plant and machineryIdentifies and assigns necessary routine maintenance, repairs, and ship's technical jobsStands engine room watch while vessel is underway or as and when deemed necessaryMaintaining log of the lube/oil quantities and consumptionsMonitoring and analyzing cooling waterManages the general condition/maintenance of machineries, steering gear, air conditioning, etc.Keeping engine room watches and carrying out and administering maintenance jobsOther duties as assignedRequirements & Qualifications:Valid Merchant Mariners Credential (MMC)Unlimited Chief endorsementValid U.S. PassportValid USCG Medical CertificateQMED EndorsementValid TWIC CardAbility to pass a physical examAbility to pass a written examAbout Us:Hornblower's passion is to provide amazing experiences on land and water.
