Job OverviewThe faculty member will engage actively in clinical, research, and academic services within the Division of Academic Specialists in Obstetrics and Gynecology, part of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology. This role involves providing patient care at both the UW Hospital and Clinics and Meriter UnityPoint Hospital.Clinical ResponsibilitiesDeliver treatment for a diverse array of complex gynecologic conditions using both office-based and surgical approaches.Demonstrate proficiency in minimally invasive gynecologic surgery.Participate in a multidisciplinary pelvic pain clinic and contribute to the development and maintenance of a program focused on office-based procedures.Collaborate with colleagues in the academic specialist division to enhance surgical skills by assisting and instructing during advanced benign gynecologic surgeries.Engage fully in on-call duties for the benign gynecology service.Research and Educational EngagementThe ideal candidate should show a strong interest in clinical and/or educational research, with expectations to initiate and engage in various research projects and quality outcome programs. Teaching responsibilities will include mentoring medical students, residents, and fellows.Administrative and Committee InvolvementThe successful applicant will also take part in administrative tasks and committee work to support the clinical and scholarly objectives of our organization and the School of Medicine and Public Health. Building collegial relationships with fellow faculty members will be a vital aspect of these responsibilities.Academic DutiesOversee and participate in surgical training programs for medical students, residents, and fellows.Facilitate advanced surgical training opportunities for faculty members.Contribute to the simulation lab, focusing on developing advanced skills and metrics for residents.We invite you to explore a short video that provides insight into our organization and the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology.
