Java EngineerProject Details: Fed now – Developing for the payment industry, enterprise money movement. Deploying to the internal cloud. This is a new project but will use existing code, existing libraries, design patterns already created. Project Scope / Components:
Building a system that communicates with government agencies that sends and receives tax records
Another system that communicates with the central clearance system (federal gov system)
Being developed for enabling real time payments (RTP) – like Zelle
The government is reacting to the market evolving, so they’re building out standards for RTP
The initial versions need to be complete by March 2022, project will continue through March 2023
Position Details:
Client: US Bank
Role: JAVA engineer
Duration: 6mo contract
30-minute final interview with manager
Necessary skills/experience:
8+ years of development experience o Will consider 5+ years if senior-level still
Hands-on development (not just architecture/etc.)
Knowledge in Agile Methodologies and experience of working in agile projects
Understand design patterns and ability to pick up quickly
Basics of DevOps o Environment and most pipelines already built but need to understand how to deploy within etc.
Technical experience needed:
Experience in Core Java, preferably version 1.8 or higher
REST APIs and Microservices, knowledge of JSON (Java Script Object Notation) handling
Spring or Springboot o Services, controllers, AOPs, security
DevOps o Experience in DevOps processes, CI/CD (Continuous Development/Continuous Integration) pipeline development and orchestration o Experience with GitHub or GitLab o Build tools like Apache Maven, Jenkins o Basic cloud knowledge (not focused on a particular cloud – will be internal cloud)
Nice to haves:
Knowledge of Kafka or other asynchronous technologies (MQ)
Cassandra or any other any NoSQL database experience (MongoDB, Orient DB, CouchDB etc.)
GraphQL
Caching experience
Experience with tools like Splunk, AppDynamics, Kibana
Required Skills :
Core Java with 1.8 features (lambdas, streams, collections)
Spring Boot eco system – services, controllers, security, aop, transactions.
Design & Development approach - TDD, Junit, Code coverage and good code quality, Understand common patterns
DevOps, Operations & trouble shooting – Understand Microservice deployment to any cloud, Maven, Jenkins Splunk, logs checking, Linux commands (We have the pipelines created by DevOps team but we want them to be able to deploy using the existing pipelines)
