Job Description: TSE is seeking a Tolling and/or Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) Engineer to be based in Chesapeake, VA. The ideal candidate will have experience in traffic or electrical engineering, ITS, and emerging transportation technology with leadership skills to support our Traffic/ITS team in Virginia. The successful candidate will need to be a forward-looking team player who can work collaboratively with others, in a dynamic setting to support external client engagement, project management, business development, and internal leadership. Job Responsibilities: Conduct technical work in the field of electrical, tolling, ITS, and emerging technology engineering Lead or support a team of professionals to deliver projects in compliance, on-time, and within budget Support growth of tolling and ITS practice in the southeast Provide program support functions for large engineering programs across the southeastern states Collaborate pursuits of both traditional government RFPs as well as unsolicited proposals related to tolling, ITS, and new technologies in transportation Preferred Qualifications: 4+ years of electrical or ITS or Tolling engineering experience Experience with VDOT, VA municipalities, or other state DOT’s projects Experience in developing project take-offs, schedules, shop drawings, load calculations, test plans, and outage plans Experience in ITS and Tolling planning, systems engineering, ITS design, connected and automated vehicle technology, and smart mobility solutions Experience in developing plan sheets, specifications & estimates, technical memoranda, reports, presentations and other project documentation Experience in proposal development Excellent communication, analytical, and project management skills Salary and Benefits: The salary for this position ranges from $90,000 to $180,000 per year, depending on experience, education, and professional certifications.
