Administrative Specialist I (S) The Department of Public Safety's mission is to safeguard and preserve the lives and property of the people of North Carolina through preparation, prevention, and protection with integrity and honor. The Administrative Specialist Position is located at Edgecombe YDC in Rocky Mount, NC. Job Duties: Maintains a filing system that includes employee personnel files, timesheets, and monthly reports. Serves as the facility Time Administrator, Workers Comp/FMLA Administrator. Handles hiring process for facility and communicates with JJ HR and CHR. Processes HR actions such as LOA requests, separations, pay actions. Serves as point of contact for worker's compensation claims including completing and submitting claims to Workers Compensation third party administrator and ensures that the incidents are documented on the OSHA log/summary. Composes written correspondences, answers telephones, takes and delivers messages, and processes incoming and outgoing mail and parcel packages and deliveries. Performs miscellaneous administrative duties assigned by the Director and Business Officer and serves as backup for the administrative reception desk as the initial point of contact for all visitors and staff. Serves as the back up for the facility Business Officer with duties that include: motor fleet management of on site vehicles, processing invoices, entering and receiving E-Procurement requistions, obtaining e-quotes for goods and services, monitors updates in NCFS, and assists with p card purchases reconiliation. Knowledge Skills and Abilities/Management Preferences Human Resources experience in a "generalist" type role with knowledge of a variety of HR areas. Human Resource experience that has serving a team with 20 or more employees Demonstrated experience entering employee's time using HR time management systems Experience with North Carolina State HRIS systems. Work Schedule: This is a full-time position. Monday-Friday, 8am-5pm We offer great Benefits!
