Pay: $30.00 - $40.00/hourBenefits:Medical InsuranceLife Insurance Long-term DisabilityVacationSick Time401(k)Profit SharingAdditional voluntary benefits are offeredCompany/Position Overview: Our client, a civil engineering consulting firm located in the Denver Tech Center, is interviewing and hiring immediately for a Payroll Administrator. This position reports to the Controller and is responsible for processing everything that is associated with paying employees, maintaining payroll databases, and processing paychecks according to the payroll schedule and in the correct amount. These duties will include:Prepare and submit bi-weekly, multi-state payrollCheck timesheets for accuracyProcess and approve changes in payroll and accounting databasesEnter and update data into payroll database, accounting database, and spreadsheetsProcess off-cycle payrolls, including final pay, bonuses, and adjustmentsProcess wage garnishmentsEnter expense reimbursements for paymentProcess paper checks for distributionReconcile open enrollment & monthly employee benefits invoicesPrepare, reconcile, and submit required tax documents/reports, including W-2’sPrepare and maintain vacation and sick leave accrual reports and recordsPrepare New Hire packetsMaintain accurate employee files, including certifications and driver’s license information Prepare and distribute annual Total Compensation StatementsPrepare and maintain Employee Service Recognition recordsPrepare U.S. Census Bureau surveysMaintain I-9 filesSupport the Human Resources and Accounting departments with additional tasks or special projects as needed Required Skills/Abilities:High level of discretion when handling sensitive and confidential informationStrong knowledge of payroll, garnishments, and benefits distributionAbility to function well in time-sensitive situationsProficient in Microsoft ExcelExceptional mathematical and calculation skillsExcellent verbal and written communication skillsExcellent interpersonal and communication skillsExcellent organizational skills and attention to detailExcellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlinesStrong analytical and problem-solving skillsMust be able to pass a criminal background check and drug screen, including marijuana Education and Experience:Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) certification or equivalent is a plus5+ years of experience with end-to-end payroll processingBachelor’s degree in business/accounting or related field and/or equivalent experienceExperience with Paylocity and Deltek is a plus
