Title: HR & Payroll SpecialistType: Direct HireLocation: Lone Tree, CO (Park Meadows area)Schedule: Hybrid – 2-3 days onsite/weekSalary: $65,000 – $80,000Position OverviewLakeshore Talent is partnered with a growing organization that supports multiple school locations across several states in their search for an HR & Payroll Specialist to join their team. This role is responsible for managing payroll operations while also supporting core HR functions across multiple entities.This is a highly visible, service-oriented role requiring strong payroll expertise, attention to detail, and the ability to collaborate directly with leadership teams. The ideal candidate is proactive, solutions-driven, and comfortable working in a fast-paced, multi-state environment.Key ResponsibilitiesPayroll AdministrationProcess accurate and timely payroll across multiple entities and statesEnsure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll laws and tax regulationsMaintain payroll records including wages, deductions, timekeeping, and leave trackingPerform payroll reconciliations and generate reporting on payroll expenses and tax liabilitiesRespond to employee inquiries related to pay, taxes, and deductionsSupport payroll audits and provide required documentationAssist with payroll system updates, implementations, or integrationsHuman Resources SupportAssist with onboarding and offboarding processes, including documentation and system setupMaintain employee records and ensure HRIS data integritySupport benefits administration, including enrollments, changes, and employee communicationEnsure compliance with employment laws and internal policiesAssist in maintaining employee handbooks, policies, and proceduresSupport employee relations and performance management processes as neededPartner with leadership to address HR-related needs across multiple locationsAdditional ResponsibilitiesParticipate in meetings with leadership, including occasional presentations on HR and benefitsSupport multiple locations and client groups simultaneouslyOccasional travel (primarily within Colorado, including Colorado Springs during initial onboarding period)Qualifications2–4+ years of payroll experience, with a background in multi-entity and/or multi-state environmentsWorking knowledge of HR processes and employment practicesExperience with payroll systems such as Paylocity, iSolved, UKG, or ADPStrong understanding of payroll regulations, tax requirements, and complianceExperience with payroll reconciliations and reportingExcellent organizational skills and attention to detailStrong communication and interpersonal skillsAbility to handle confidential information with discretionPreferred QualificationsExperience supporting multiple locations or client groupsBenefits administration experience, including vendor/broker interactionExperience setting up payroll tax accounts (withholding, unemployment, workers’ compensation, retirement)Familiarity with HRIS platforms and benefits systemsExposure to AI tools in day-to-day workIdeal Candidate ProfilePersonable and comfortable in a client-facing roleSelf-starter with strong problem-solving skills and initiativeAble to manage multiple priorities and stakeholdersComfortable working with a remote manager and collaborating via virtual tools (e.g., Microsoft Teams)Demonstrates stability in work history #ZR
