Summer 2026Malden Out-of-School Time ProgramAdventure Summer Program - Teacher Assistant(Multiple Vacancies)Description:The Malden Out-of-School Time (MOST) Program provides after school, vacation, and summer programs for the Malden Public Schools. Our programs follow the MPS calendar and the after school programs operate from school day dismissal until 5:30pm including early release days. Full day programs are offered during February and April school vacation weeks and during summer break. It is our mission to provide high quality, affordable, Out-of-School Time care to Malden students in grades K through 6.The Summer Teacher Assistant works directly with students and assists the Summer Teacher with supervision, safety, and participation of students in all aspects of the program.Responsibilities:*The program dates and hours are June 29, 2026 - July 31, 2026 (Monday - Friday) from 8am - 4pm.Pre Program SessionAttend mandatory Summer Program Orientation and assist with program set upAssist withEngaging students in small and large group activitiesSupervising students during all aspects of the afterschool program including arrival, transitions, snack, bathrooms, outdoor play, enrichment clubs and dismissalManaging student behavior in accordance with MOST school day/afterschool policyImplement student accommodations (if applicable)Maintaining classroom environment including set up, maintenance of supplies and clean upWorking collaboratively with program staffBuild positive relationship with familiesOther duties as assignedPhysical RequirementsThe essential functions of this position are performed indoors as well as outdoors.During a typical workday, incumbent will:Perform functions that will necessitate him/ her to have a strong overall level of strength and physical abilityBe expected to exert an extensive and frequent level of talking, seeing, hearing and walkingBe expected to exert a moderate level of standing, sitting, walking, lifting, carrying, pushing/ pulling, bending, climbing and kneelingQualifications:Prefer at least 6 months experience working in with school-age children, social emotional learning, project-based curriculum planning and/or special educationAbility to set clear limits and supervise school age studentsExperience in working with diverse learners and families from diverse cultural and economic backgroundsTerms of Employment:Work Monday - Friday, from 8:15am - 4:45pmRequired to obtain Mandated Reporter TrainingSalary: $17.00 per hourFunding Source: Malden Out-of-School Time ProgramReports to: Jennifer McGoldrick, Director of After School Programs.
