In this role, you will be responsible for owning the inference and delivery of machine learning insights across multiple customer projects. You will manage, monitor, and scale ML systems, ensuring reliable and efficient deployment of AI solutions in a production environment. Collaborating with cross-functional engineering teams, you will develop scalable pipelines that integrate AI innovations into real-world healthcare products. This position offers the flexibility to work remotely from anywhere within the United States, providing an excellent opportunity to contribute to impactful projects at the forefront of AI/ML research and development in healthcare.QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, or a related quantitative field7+ years of professional software engineering experience, including at least 5+ years in building and operating production ML systemsExpert-level proficiency in Python, with experience writing production-grade, maintainable, and testable codeHands-on experience deploying APIs using frameworks such as FastAPI or similar in a production settingSolid experience with deploying, managing, and scaling services in Kubernetes, including containerization with Docker, Helm deployment, resource tuning, autoscaling, and failure recoveryProven experience with MLOps practices, including model deployment, versioning, monitoring, drift detection, and system health managementResponsibilitiesOwn the inference and delivery of machine learning insights to multiple internal and external customersManage, monitor, and scale ML systems to ensure high availability and performancePartner with cross-functional engineering teams to implement scalable, flexible data pipelines that incorporate AI innovations into production productsWork with large-scale healthcare datasets using distributed computing frameworks to enable efficient data processing and analysisEnhance pipeline efficiency and reliability through profiling, refactoring, and advanced engineering techniquesDevelop new data pipelines to improve the deployment, usage, and performance of ML modelsCollaborate with data scientists, engineers, and stakeholders to translate business needs into technical solutionsMaintain compliance with best practices in MLOps, including model monitoring and retraining strategiesBenefitsComprehensive health benefits packageIncentive and recognition programsEquity stock purchase options401(k) retirement plan contributionsFlexible remote work environmentOpportunities for professional development and career growthEqual OpportunityUnitedHealth Group is an Equal Employment Opportunity employer.
