Job Title: Manufacturing Engineer 3 (US Citizens)Pay Rate: $50/HrDuration: 12 MonthsLocation: El Segundo, CAOur client is a large Aerospace Industry Manufacturer.We are looking for a Manufacturing Engineer 3 (US Citizens)The Manufacturing Engineer 3 creates statements of work, processes, procedures, and production layouts for the manufacturing of tooling assemblies, machining, and material handling equipment. Knowledge of composite manufacturing is highly preferred.Role and Responsibilities:Support development of tooling packages for supplier bid process through procurement group.will work closely with the tooling design team and in-house fabrication group to translate complex tooling designs into instructions that suppliers can bid on and fabricate. Is responsible for providing tooling liaison support between manufacturing suppliers and the tooling group. Coordinate directly with suppliers to ensure all aspects of the build process are understood, and be responsible for suppliers meeting quality, cost, and schedule.Read and analyze complex GD&T drawings and help analyze existing drawings to identify shortcomings or missing information.Track supplier performance and answer all technical questions related to the manufacturing of tools.Utilize computer-aided design (CAD) equipment to support suppliers in the manufacturing of tooling.Identify design errors, omissions, and other deficiencies, and recommend revisions and/or improvements in tool design layout to fellow responsible engineers or designers.Interact with design and development teams (teams include specialists in Design, Analysis, Quality, Materials, and Manufacturing) to meet all design tooling requirements (technical, cost, schedule)Support Continuous Improvement activitiesSupport activities related to estimating, RFQ/RFP/RFI, and ROM pricing.Basic Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or related engineering/scientific discipline5+ years’ experience in a manufacturing engineering facility or equivalentComposite experience is a plusCAD solid modeling (experience with NX/CATIA) and drafting experience are a plusIdentify opportunities for continuous improvement with a focus on customer service excellenceExperience with MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)Knowledge of manufacturing processes such as machining, welding, composites, GD&T, grinding, laser cutting, water jet, and shop aid building is needed for the role. Knowledge of CAD software such as NX and Catia and laser inspection is preferred but not required.Proficiency with GD&T best practicesMust be a self-starter and possess strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work independently and as part of a teamExperience with tooling design, mechanical assemblies, and manufacturing is a plusOral and written communication, computer, documentation, and presentation skills are requiredAbility to prioritize and manage time effectively
