Mechanical Engineer

ASRC Federal Gulf States Constructors is seeking a Mechanical Engineer, PE support or government customer programs at Sheppard Air Force Base in Wichita Falls, Texas. This position is required to be on-site.Key Role:Perform specific duties and responsibilities related to Mechanical engineering including evaluating HVAC systems, products, and components and applications.Oversees A&E designs.Monitors A&E's progress and work quality.Review AF Requirements & Optimization (R&O) playbook for project initiations anddevelopment of maintenance requirements.Provides the scope definition, specification, studies, budgeting and write-up into project proposals of mechanical engineering projects and prepares initial government cost estimates for small projects.Perform inspections on completed project work along with equipment installations capturing Real Property data.Ability to interpret construction/engineering contract drawings and specifications to ensure all construction meets initial design and specifications.Performs physical activities including climbing in and around equipment, crawling and working outdoors.Consult and coordinate with electrical, structural and civil engineers during the design phase to ensure a proper mechanical layout.Supports/works with project design teams consisting of architects, engineers and customers' technical staff.Provides technical support to programmers and cost estimators.Conducts technical review of Military Construction (MILCON), Unspecified Minor Military Construction (UMMC), facility projects and architect-engineer designers' plans and specifications.Reviews NexGen IT Work Tasks and DD Form 1391s submissions for validity of scope and cost.Performs other related duties as assigned.Basic Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering from a program certified by the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET).1-3 years of experience in Mechanical Engineering programs.Licensed Professional EngineerProfessional engineers licensed in another state in the United States, but not currently licensed in the State of Texas, must (1) meet the license requirements of the State of Texas Engineering Practices Act, and (2) obtain a professional engineering license from the State of Texas within six (6) months of the date of hire.Be able to identify common site architectural, civil, mechanical, electrical, and fire protection/detection system components, and understand how they function/operate.Have experience planning or performing facility maintenance, improvements, or repairs.* Must be a U.S. Citizen*Preferred Qualifications:Air Force or DOD experience.
