Licensed Practical Nurse

Alaris Health at Hamilton Park - Alaris Health at Hamilton Par, a 260 bed-skilled nursing Center in Jersey City, New Jersey, seeks a licensed practical nurse to provide resident care, treatment and services to the residents of the Center, assist in the orientation and supervision of nursing personnel, attend to the unit's daily operations each shift and unit level and assume leadership responsibilities. Additional responsibilities include:assuming an active role in direct resident assessment and careadministering residents' medication and/or treatmentassisting in developing and implementing resident and nursing care planscounting and recording class drugs at the beginning and end of every shiftcommunicating pertinent data to charge nurse, superior and/or physicianproviding residents emotional and physical comfort and ensuring their safetyassisting physicians in making rounds and examining residentssupervising and coordinating nursing personnel in providing direct resident care in adherence with state and federal regulationsand above all, ensuring that residents and families receive the highest quality of service in a caring and compassionate atmosphere which recognizes the individuals' needs and rightsJOB REQUIREMENTS:Graduate of an approved school for practical or vocational nursingCurrently licensed by the New Jersey State Board of NursingRehabilitative or geriatric nursing experience is preferredAble to withstand strenuous physical activityPossess manual dexterity to handle instruments and equipment and visual and aural acuity to detect changes in residents' conditionsPossess understanding, patience and tact in dealing with infirm, chronic or acutely ill residents, their families and visitorsAbility to positively interact with everyone from residents to government agencies and the general publicGeneral knowledge of personnel policies and procedures and an understanding of supervisory responsibilitiesAbility to work independently, problem solve and make decisions as necessaryAbility to understand and follow oral and written instructions in the English language, which may be of a technical nature
