Java Backend Developer

Position :Java Backend Developer Location: New York City,NJ (Hybrid) Hire Type :Contract to Hire Job Description : Senior-level back-end developer in the Credit Technology Team. Cultivate the team and the infrastructure to support automation improvements for Credit Business lines. Develop value-added AI, document data extraction, and machine learning solutions. Responsible for coding as well as team level contributions to overall application development efforts within loan application(s); providing technical direction and oversight on creation of applications from E2E (end to end) perspective. Develop value-added interfaces for data extraction solutions that support revenue generation, business insight, risk management, operational efficiency, regulatory compliance, loan pricing, pre and post-sale loan facility research. These solutions must overcome issues of complex data (e.g., VLDB, multi-structured, "big data", etc.) as well as deployment of advanced visualization techniques to support document classification, text mining, and statistical analysis to deliver insights. Adopt Global Banking and Markets and Enterprise Level best practices in the firm and contribute to improving proficiency in these areas for Credit, and the firm more generally.Ensuring systems design, business requirements, and architecture of solution is well understood by involved parties and responsible for coding and overall delivery of software products. Responsible for coding, instructing, directing, and reviewing the work of other associates, contractors, and strategic partner resources that are part of their team. Typically requires 10+ years of applicable experience. Significant experience coding large-scale software, data and analytics knowledge relevant to the financial industry. Multiple-languages on various compute environments is essential. Position Summary Must haves: Experience with Java, Core Java, Resteasy,Jetty, Servlet, SQL, NoSQL, UNIX and Windows knowledge is essential. Advanced degree in Computer Science or related field preferred or substantial equivalent experience. Nice to have:Python, React,experience converting large established application codebases from one language to another language (e.g., Java to Python in a UNIX environment at scale). Extensive experience converting requirements into producttonalizable code (i.e., moving code through the DEV/UAT/PROD lifecycle). Demonstrated ability to document and write clean standardized code following a set of best practices. Experience writing, productionalizing, and maintaining large applications in a highly regulated environment. Proven ability to adequately plan for application hardware/software system requirements with the emphasis on the ability of the application/codebase to adequately scale up as required.
