This role will primarily serve as the liaison between engineering and manufacturing, supporting Built-In Quality (BIQ) initiatives and ensuring smooth resolution of assembly and product issues on the operations floor.The ideal candidate will have strong electrical design and troubleshooting knowledge, the ability to work independently, and excellent communication skills to collaborate across engineering, manufacturing, suppliers, and operations teams.Duties & ResponsibilitiesServe as the first point of contact for manufacturing and assembly-related electrical issues.Support operations floor by investigating assembly concerns and coordinating engineering solutions.Act as liaison for offsite engineering teams (Mossville and India) by gathering shop floor information and communicating findings.Document product and assembly practices through discussions with assemblers, photographs, and process observations.Participate in Large Engine Center (LEC) Pre-Delivery Audits.Manage approximately 150 active BIQ initiatives, including CI Cards and Engineering Change Requests (ECRs).Drive closure of engineering requests and BIQ actions, averaging 30 closures per month, primarily through print changes.Coordinate and manage an offshore team of approximately 4 designers/detailers.Review, track, and prioritize engineering requests while collaborating with cross-functional teams.Spend regular time on the manufacturing floor to support operations and resolve issues quickly.Required SkillsTop 3 SkillsElectrical Design KnowledgeElectrical TroubleshootingSelf-Starter / Proactive OwnershipTechnical Skills (Required)Strong understanding of electrical systems and component integration.Ability to read and interpret engineering prints, wiring diagrams, and schematics.Excellent organization, prioritization, and time management skills.Ability to handle multiple engineering requests with urgency and accuracy.Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.Technical Skills (Preferred)Understanding of engines or engine electrical systems.Experience with CREO and TeamCenter.Prior manufacturing support or shop floor engineering experience.Military technical experience may be considered.Soft SkillsExcellent verbal and written communication skills.Strong collaboration skills with hourly assembly teams and cross-functional stakeholders.Ability to work effectively with diverse teams and personalities.Strong teamwork and multitasking capabilities.Comfortable working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.Education & ExperienceEducation Bachelor’s degree required in:Mechanical EngineeringAgricultural EngineeringElectrical EngineeringEngineering TechnologyOr related engineering disciplineExperienceBachelor’s degree + 3 years of engine design or related engineering experienceInternship experience may count toward total experience (up to 2 years)Master’s degree + 3 years of relevant experienceWork Environment Daily interaction with engineering teams, operations, and manufacturing personnel.Typical day includes:1–2 trips to the operations floor1–2 meetingsTracking and evaluating engineering requestsCollaborating with engineers and manufacturing teams on issue resolution
