The ideal candidate will have a strong background in developing and executing high-fidelity softgoods prototypes, aligning them with industrial design intent and functional requirements.Required Skills & QualificationsHands-on experience in softgoods prototype development (textiles, silicone, polymers, leather, hybrid constructions)Strong knowledge of pattern engineering and 2D pattern creation from 3D CAD geometryCut-and-sew expertise including seam construction, stitch types, thread selection, and tension calibrationExperience with EVT DVT prototype builds and rapid iteration cyclesSolid understanding of Design for Manufacturability (DFM DFx) for softgoodsExperience integrating hardware into softgoods (buckles, lugs, magnets, connectors)Familiarity with validation testing (tensile, tear, abrasion, flex, sweat, environmental exposure)Working knowledge of CAD tools (Rhino, SolidWorks, Creo, or equivalent)Ability to collaborate with industrial design, mechanical, manufacturing, and suppliersPrior work experience at client or in client's IndustryApplicants must be able to work directly for Artech on W2Preferred Skills & QualificationsEIS: AutoCADEIS: Manufacturing Engineering Support8-10 years of experienceDay-to-Day ResponsibilitiesDevelop and execute high-fidelity softgoods prototypes aligned to industrial design intent and functional requirementsSupport material selection and characterization across textiles, silicones, polymers, and coatingsCreate and refine 2D patterns, perform digital fit checks, and support physical fit validationExecute cut-and-sew trials, iterate seams, stitches, and construction detailsSupport EVT and DVT builds, including soft tooling for silicone and polymer componentsPerform early DFMDFx assessments to ensure scalability and manufacturabilitySupport prototype validation testing and incorporate feedback into design iterationsWork closely with cross-functional teams and suppliers to resolve prototype issues quicklyDocument prototype learnings and communicate risks, tradeoffs, and recommendations clearlyCompany Benefits & CultureCollaborative work environmentOpportunities for professional developmentInclusive and diverse workplaceFor immediate consideration please click APPLY to begin the screening process with Alex.
