Ruby Chef Developer

Overview In this role you will drive deployment automation and code control across global environments. You collaborate with QA and business lines to coordinate releases and create deployment documentation, ensuring compliance and smooth transitions through SIT, UAT, and Prod. You will design and implement build and release processes, manage branching strategies, and troubleshoot deployments to deliver reliable software at scale. ResponsibilitiesDeploy applications globally and coordinate controlled deploymentsConfigure SVN/SCM and automate builds with Jenkins and related toolsDefine processes for regulated code control and branch managementDevelop Unix/build scripts for deployment automationEngage functional resources and obtain QA/LOB approvals for deploymentsCoordinate deployments across SIT/UAT/Prod/ COB environments; prepare deployment docs and runbooksTroubleshoot application/middleware issues and ensure smooth releases Key requirements7-8 years of release engineering or related experienceKnowledge of SVN/SCM tools or equivalentsUnix/shell/Perl/Python scriptingMiddleware support (WebSphere and/or WebLogic)Application build tools (ANT/Maven/Jenkins)Relational databases (SQL/Oracle)File transfer methods (ConnectDirect, SCP, SFTP)Strong debugging and problem-solving skills; Jira experienceAbility to manage multiple tasks and communicate across technical and non-technical audiencesExperience with geographically distributed teamsstrong communication skillsmulti-tasking and prioritizationclient relationship developmentSVN/SCMJenkinsANT
