Inventory and Accounting Support Specialist
Overview
The Housing Authority of Salt Lake City (HASLC), is a federally funded Special Purpose Government Agency, created to provide rent subsidies, and promote affordable housing for low-income persons residing in Salt Lake City. HASLC is the largest public housing authority in the state of Utah and the largest provider of Affordable Housing in the Salt Lake Valley. We currently assist over 10,000 individuals, who are seniors, persons with disabilities, children, previously homeless, and households with minimal income, a place to call home.
General Purpose as an Inventory and Accounting Support Specialist
The Inventory and Accounting Support Specialist fulfills and processes orders, accepts incoming shipments, and oversees the general organization of the warehouse for the Housing authority of Salt Lake City. This is a combined role which will also spend some of their time assisting the finance business unit with support-level accounting duties and tasks, while assisting staff with inventory needs. This position requires completing various tasks in the warehouse that may require hours of lifting, standing, and carrying items. Work may be performed both indoors and outdoors, with prolonged exposure to heat or cold weather.

Essential Functions of an Inventory and Accounting Support Specialist
Maintain accurate running inventory
Restock supplies and inventory; place blanket and special orders as needed.
Enters purchase order data in the inventory control system
Reconcile inventory discrepancies
Accepts, verifies, inspects, and records all deliveries
Processes invoices
Posts journal entries to the general ledger
Preparation of financial and compliance reports
Provides support to finance business unit, including data entry, filing, account reconciliation, and flagging discrepancies for review
Desired Skills & Experience of an Inventory and Accounting Support Specialist
High school diploma or equivalent and 2 years experience in inventory control or equivalent experience
Proficient in computer systems for office setting, including spreadsheets; quick and accurate data entry and coding skills
Ability to communicate effectively in English, both orally and in writing
Excellent mathematical and analytical skills
Deadline-oriented with excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
Exceptional customer service skills
Ability to work in a highly independent role, and as a team player
Ability to multi-task and handle multiple deadlines and tasks in a face-paced environment
Must be able to move up to 50 lbs.
Must be able to perform physical work, including climbing, bending, crawling, kneeling, and lifting.

Compensation details:19-24 Hourly Wage
