Technical Program Manager with Data Engineer background + Media + Some sort of AI Exp Contract Location - Los Angeles, CA / New York City, NY / San Francisco, CA NOTE: Initially remote for 1 to 2 months, later on candidate have to be onsite Mandate Skills - Technical Program Manager with Media & Data Engineer background Job DescriptionProfessional Experience: 7+ years in Technical Program Management, Engineering Program Management, or Software Engineering.Domain Knowledge: Experience serving as a TPM or Scrum Master specifically within a Data Engineering department.Product Delivery Models: Strong understanding of traditional program management, SAFe, Scrum, and Kanban frameworks, coupled with expertise in Jira administration and workflow management.Program Management Expertise: Expert in dependency management, risk management, and delivery projects from end to end.Program Leadership: Proven ability to manage complex, cross-functional technical programs involving multiple distributed teams.Soft Skills: Exceptional stakeholder coordination, facilitation, and problem-solving abilities. Proactive Delivery & Execution OwnershipDrive End-to-End Delivery: Own the execution of technical initiatives, translating high-level objectives into actionable plans and managing cross-team dependencies.Accelerate Progress: Actively remove impediments and "ruthlessly prioritize" the backlog to ensure the team remains focused on critical-path items that drive business value.Ceremony Leadership: Lead key Agile ceremonies (sprint planning, backlog grooming, retrospectives) and manage the intake of ad-hoc items alongside major initiatives.Queue Management: Monitor incoming request queues, surfacing new items to engineering to ensure they are tracked, estimated, and prioritized. 2. Technical SME & Risk ManagementTechnical Subject Matter Expertise: Become deeply familiar with the data architecture, system designs, and products of your teams to identify technical risks like architectural debt or integration issues early.Strategic Risk Mitigation: Proactively identify and document risks and dependencies, developing and executing detailed mitigation plans before they become crises. Decision Support: Convene the right technical experts to drive resolution on escalated issues and challenge assumptions to ensure technical feasibility.
