We foster a culture of integrity, pride in workmanship, and continuous improvement.Position OverviewThe Second Shift Foreman is responsible for the safe, organized, and efficient execution of production activities during second shift operations. This role focuses on maintaining a safe work environment, driving production output against daily targets, and ensuring the shop is well-organized, staffed, and running smoothly.This is a hands-on leadership role that requires active presence on the floor, real-time problem solving, and strong coordination of people, materials, and workflow to meet production goals.Key ResponsibilitiesProduction Execution & ThroughputExecute the daily production plan as directed by the Director of OperationsDrive shift-level output to meet or exceed production targetsMonitor workflow, identify bottlenecks, and reallocate labor as needed to maintain flowEnsure jobs are prioritized and sequenced correctly throughout the shiftTrack and report key production metrics (output, downtime, efficiency)Communicate shift performance, issues, and carryover work to leadershipSafety (Primary Emphasis)Enforce all safety policies and procedures on the shop floorMaintain constant awareness of shop conditions to proactively address hazardsStop work immediately for any unsafe condition or behaviorEnsure proper use of PPE and safe operation of equipmentLead by example in promoting a strong safety cultureParticipate in incident reporting and corrective actions as neededShop Organization & DisciplineMaintain a clean, organized, and efficient shop environment (5S mindset)Ensure tools, materials, and workstations are properly staged and maintainedEnforce standards for housekeeping, equipment care, and work area organizationCoordinate material flow to prevent delays or congestionEnsure shift handoffs are clean, clear, and organizedTeam Leadership & SupervisionDirectly supervise second shift production employeesProvide clear instructions, expectations, and daily directionMonitor attendance, productivity, and work quality at a practical levelAddress minor performance issues in real time; escalate larger concerns to the Director of OperationsSupport onboarding and training of new employees on second shiftMaintain accountability while fostering a productive and respectful work environment Communication & CoordinationAct as the primary point of contact for second shift operationsCommunicate issues related to staffing, materials, equipment, or schedule deviations to the Director of OperationsCoordinate with maintenance, materials, and other shifts as neededProvide clear shift reports summarizing production performance and key issuesQuality (Execution-Level Responsibility)Ensure work is performed according to established procedures and standardsIdentify and escalate quality issues to the Director of OperationsReinforce adherence to work instructions without owning the full quality systemSupport rework or corrective actions as directedAuthority & Decision-MakingAuthorized to reassign labor and adjust workflow within the shift to meet production goals.Authorized to stop work for safety concerns.Authorized to enforce shop rules and expectations.Escalates major operational, personnel, or quality issues to the Director of Operations.Required QualificationsPrior experience in a manufacturing or production environmentExperience leading or supervising teams preferredStrong understanding of shop operations, workflow, and safety practicesAbility to make quick, practical decisions in a fast-paced environmentStrong organizational and communication skillsWillingness to be hands-on and actively engaged on the shop floorWorking ConditionsManufacturing shop environmentSecond shift hours with consistent on-site presence required What We OfferCompensation & ScheduleCompetitive hourly wage: $35.00-$40.00 per hour, based on experienceFull-time schedule: 10-hour second shifts, Monday–Friday (no weekends)Second shift: 4 PM – 2:30 AMMay require overtime based on production needsFull Benefits Package· Medical, Dental, and Vision Insurance· Company-paid Life Insurance· Health Savings Account (HSA)· 401(k) with 3% company match· Paid Time Off (PTO) and Sick Leave· Safety Shoe Allowance· All tools provided, including toolboxGrowth & Career Path At Holcombe Mixers, we invest in our people.
