Role OverviewThis role focuses on ensuring aircraft safety and regulatory compliance by leading investigations into identified issues. The position is responsible for analyzing problems, determining root causes, and driving corrective actions to maintain and restore airworthiness in alignment with aviation regulations and company standards.Key ResponsibilitiesLead investigations related to regulatory compliance issues, including audit findings, safety concerns, and non-compliance casesApply structured problem-solving methods (e.g., RCCA, 5 Whys, Fishbone, BPSM) to identify root causesDefine problem statements and conduct detailed analysis to uncover systemic issuesDevelop and implement corrective and preventive actions to avoid recurrenceCoordinate with cross-functional engineering teams (systems, structures, propulsion, etc.)Communicate investigation progress and outcomes to stakeholders, including leadership and regulatory authorities such as the Federal Aviation AdministrationEnsure investigation outputs meet regulatory and organizational expectationsPartner with internal teams to improve processes, tools, and compliance practicesRequired Skills & QualificationsDegree in Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, or related field (or equivalent experience)Experience in aviation, aerospace, or related technical domainsStrong problem-solving and analytical skillsAbility to lead cross-functional teams and drive work to completionEffective written and verbal communication skillsAbility to manage complex, ambiguous problems with a structured approachPreferred QualificationsExperience with Root Cause Corrective Action (RCCA) methodologiesKnowledge of aircraft certification, safety requirements, and regulatory complianceFamiliarity with FAA regulations and Organizational Designation Authorization (ODA) processesExperience working with regulatory agenciesBackground in aircraft systems design, analysis, or integrationPilot or Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) certification (optional)Key CompetenciesLeadership without authoritySystems-level thinkingAttention to detail with big-picture awarenessStakeholder management and influenceOwnership and accountabilityWork Environment100% onsite role in Everett, WACollaboration with engineering teams, leadership, and regulatory bodiesOccasional high-priority or time-sensitive investigations
