Hourly Rate: $17.50 / hour
SUMMARY:
The Box Office Associate assists the Ticketing Services Manager with daily Box Office operations such as utilizing the ticketing system, assisting patrons with questions and sales, and responsibilities regarding group sales. This individual ensures the highest quality customer service standards are met and maintained by upholding Playhouse policies. This individual also follows best practices in sales techniques and on an administrative level with fellow staff.
The Box Office Associate is a hybrid position. On in person days, this position is in the Box Office in the Playhouse assisting patrons who come to the window or distributing tickets for a show. On remote days, this position works from home assisting patrons on the phone.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
Master the utilization of Tessitura, the organization’s multifaceted ticketing system
Assist in all ticket sales including, but not limited to; single tickets, passes, packages, discounted promotions, small-group reservations, lodging partner orders, and complimentary ticket / voucher transactions
Assist patrons and potential patrons in a positive and professional manner; de-escalate patron issues when applicable, maintain a calm and helpful demeanor
Assist fellow Box Office Associates with related duties as needed, including but not limited to responding to voicemails and assisting patrons with additional needs
Follow proper sales procedures, using common language and marketing messaging for the theatre and for each show
Assist in daily database cleanup and additional projects as assigned by Management
Assist Front of House (FOH) staff with resolving patron issues on show days as needed
Consistently handle high call and walk-up volume with accuracy and grace, while multitasking in a fast-paced environment and prioritizing tasks to maximize efficiency
Attend each performance within the first week of the show
QUALIFICATIONS:
Excellent organizational skills with an ability to think proactively, prioritize work, and meet deadlines
Professional and exceptional customer service skills
A proactive approach to problem solving and strong decision making skills
Effective communication skills (writing, speaking, and listening)
Solid experience with office management systems, MS Office, and Google Cloud Software (Drive, Sheets, Docs, Forms, etc.)
Ticketing experience and computer proficiency preferred
Light lifting of objects up to ten pounds
Schedule: 30-40 hours per week, hours vary, availability for evening and weekend shifts, combination of onsite and remote work.
