Job Opening – Facilities Associate
For 93 years, Ogunquit Playhouse has been the jewel of Maine's southern seacoast, delivering world-class theatre and creating memories for generations.
We are seeking someone to join our Facilities team Tuesday-Saturday from 8am-4pm. This position can either be Seasonal and end on December 23rd, or be year round.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Perform hands- on electrical, plumbing, carpentry tasks and perform prescribed preventative maintenance on buildings, and grounds as required.
Ensure standard practices for maintaining the highest level of proficiency, safety, and outstanding customer service.
Ensure cleaning standards are adhered to.
Perform on-call duties, scheduled with Facilities Manager, for facilities emergencies.
Job Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to interact with many types of personalities.
Must be organized, and task oriented.
Able to work in a fast paced environment, and adapt to changes in tasks throughout each day.
Must feel comfortable working both independently or in a team environment.
Must be enthusiastic, and willing to learn to become proficient in the following skills: basic carpentry, plumbing, and electrical, painting, and janitorial.
Open to learning the use of hand and power tools common to the skills listed above.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel) and Google Drive.
Customer service skills a must.
Physical Demands
Some heavy lifting and considerable moving of equipment required.
Some maintenance required at heights; must be able to climb ladders / scaffolding, and be comfortable working at heights.
Facilities staff may need to work in varying weather conditions, extreme heat in excess of 90 degrees or freezing below 0, rain, heavy winds, torrential down pour, or snow.
It could be necessary to perform tasks in various work environments, such as flat hard surfaces, rocky, steep hills, wet grounds, grass areas, steep stairs, heights, dust and dirt.
Employees may be required to lift up to 50 pounds numerous times throughout the shift, as needed.
Education and Experience
2 years of related experience in a maintenance environment.
Clean driving record. While onsite, you will be driving company vehicles.
A proven track record of successfully managing staff, supervisory experience a plus.
Customer service skills are a must.
