The position is responsible for the sale of our products and services to business and construction and contractor establishments or individuals over the telephone and in the office. The successful candidate will work closely with our account managers and sales support team to develop and deliver customer services that promote and support our products. The Inside Sales Representative promote our culture, our 5 P's and our purpose to create lasting value for those we serve.Key Responsibilities & Essential Functions:Service the construction/contractor establishment and/or the original equipment manufacturer customers by providing projects or information on products or servicesManage both inbound and outbound sales communication both internally and externallyAssist customers with product selection and applicationEmphasize salable features, quote prices and credit terms, prepare sales orders for orders obtainedProvide customers with accurate stock and delivery informationProvide feedback on adequate stock levelsEstablish, build and maintain excellent customer relationshipsReview and analyze reports of business transactionsProvide sales data for new and existing customers for database entryWork closely with Outside Sales to keep account activities and literature up to dateResponsible for oversight of sales of products to include purchasing from vendors, resolve customer problems, ensure delivery of order, etc.RequirementsCritical Success Factors:Excellent customer orientationAbility to negotiate effectively at a high level and build strong relationships with customers, vendors and suppliersDrive for continuous improvementStrong troubleshooting and problem solving skillsSelf motivatedAbility to multi-task and juggle multiple priorities with strict deadlinesAbility to analyze, identify & then follow up to resolve discrepanciesDetailed-OrientedStrong work ethic with a positive attitudeJob Requirements/Specifications:Minimum 2 year degree or equivalent experience requiredPrevious experience in customer service requiredMicrosoft Excel skills are essentialKnowledge of Eclipse preferredExcellent communication and interpersonal skills via phone, email and in person are requiredKnowledge and experience with Allen Bradley/Rockwell Automation part and distribution is preferredProven negotiation skills requiredWork Environment & Physical DemandsConsistently sitting, working with hands & fingers, talking, hearing, vision acuity near, works alone, customer contact, works indoorsFrequently vision acuity far, field of vision, color visionSometimes standing, depth perception, vision adjustment, works with othersOccasionally walking, lifting, carrying, reachingEqual Opportunity Employer, including Veterans and Individuals with DisabilitiesSeveral factors are considered in making compensation decisions at Van Meter; including but not limited to education, skill sets, work experience and training, and other business and organizational needs.
