Think of us as the travel buddy who handles the logistics while you focus on what you do best helping people heal.Roles & ResponsibilitiesProvide expert labor, delivery and postpartum nursing care for antepartum, intrapartum and postpartum patientsContinuously monitor fetal and maternal status using EFM and apply AWHONN fetal monitoring guidelinesTitrate drips safely and accurately (pitocin, magnesium, occasional insulin) and manage common obstetric medsAssist and scrub in surgical cases, including C-sections and related gynecologic procedures when neededPerform triage assessments in the 3-bay triage area and coordinate care for admissions and transfersCollaborate with OB, anesthesia, neonatology (NNP) and unit staff for seamless, multidisciplinary careDocument thoroughly in EPIC and participate in handoffs to ensure continuity and patient safetySupport unit flow, take assignment as needed, and participate in charge nurse activities when assignedQualificationsCurrent, unrestricted RN license (eligible to work in North Dakota)Minimum 3 years of LDRP (Labor & Delivery/Postpartum) nursing experienceAWHONN Intermediate Fetal Monitoring required (AWHONN Advanced preferred)BLS and NRP required; STABLE certification requiredEPIC charting experience is requiredComfortable titrating drips and managing common obstetric emergenciesWillingness to scrub in OR and assist with C-section careAble to float to related areas (NICU, med/surg, PCU/ICU/ED) as neededEducationActive RN licensure; nursing degree required (BSN not required)Knowledge & SkillsStrong fetal monitoring skills and familiarity with GE/Corometrics EFM systemsProficiency with obstetric medications (pitocin, magnesium sulfate, labetalol, TXA, methergine, hemabate, cytotec)Competence placing telemetry/monitor patches and reading strips in immediate post-op recoveryEPIC electronic charting and documentation best practicesTriage assessment skills and ability to prioritize care in a busy L&D/Postpartum settingNeonatal resuscitation principles and post-delivery newborn care awarenessBenefitsFlexible, predictable scheduling with the roster posted well in advance so you can plan life outside of workSupportive team environment with experienced charge nurses and specialty resourcesProfessional development and clinical mentorship during your unit orientation (2 x 12-hour shifts on unit)Licensure assistance and reimbursement to help keep your credentials currentPaid time for mandatory onboarding and orientation hoursTravel support and local resource guidance to help you settle in quicklyOpportunities for overtime and extra shifts if you want to pick up extra hoursWork with a high patient-satisfaction team that values patient-centered careTravel Perks: Explore Bismarck, NDBismarck sits on the scenic Missouri River and offers easy access to outdoor fun — stroll the riverfront trails, explore Fort Abraham Lincoln State Park, or visit the North Dakota Heritage Center & State Museum for local history.
