In this role, you will play a critical part in developing and integrating enterprise-level applications, primarily focusing on building robust, scalable, and secure microservices and APIs. As a senior member of our development team, you will lead efforts in designing, developing, and maintaining complex software solutions that support our clients’ needs across various sectors, including defense, civilian, and homeland security. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in Python development, cloud technologies, and modern software engineering practices, with a strong emphasis on security, compliance, and high-performance systems. This position is contingent upon obtaining a Public Trust clearance, as it involves handling sensitive information and working within federal government frameworks.QualificationsTo be successful in this role, candidates should possess a minimum of 8+ years of professional Python development experience, coupled with a solid background in object-oriented programming. A bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field is required; additional years of relevant experience can substitute for formal education. Candidates should have proven experience in API development and integration, microservices architecture, and working with enterprise web and search systems such as Solr or Elasticsearch. Familiarity with JavaScript, JQuery, and front-end technologies is essential, along with experience in database management systems like Postgres and MySQL. Hands-on experience with containerization tools such as Docker, Podman, and orchestration platforms like Kubernetes is highly desirable. Candidates should also have a strong understanding of CI/CD pipelines, large-scale AWS solutions, and infrastructure-as-code tools like Terraform. Experience working in an Agile environment and with federal government projects is preferred.ResponsibilitiesThe Senior Python Developer will be responsible for a broad range of tasks, including working cross-functionally within an Agile team to develop and enhance software solutions. Key responsibilities include building FastAPIs to facilitate content display, creating microservices, and developing both front-end and back-end components. The role involves mentoring junior developers and peers in Python design principles, fostering best practices across the team. You will be tasked with designing and implementing ETL processes to support data integration and analysis, ensuring data integrity and security. Collaboration with project managers and stakeholders is essential to support emerging client needs and deliver solutions on time and within scope. The role requires juggling multiple priorities, working independently as well as collaboratively, and utilizing strong interpersonal and communication skills to effectively convey technical concepts.
