Medical Receptionist – Chiropractic & Integrative Clinic

Duties
Greet patients warmly and manage patient check-in and check-out processes efficiently using EMR (Electronic Medical Records) system.
Schedule appointments accurately, coordinate with practitioners, and manage the clinic’s calendar to optimize patient flow.
Verify insurance coverage, perform insurance verification, and handle billing procedures including medical collection processes.
Review and update patient records ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations and maintaining confidentiality of health information.
Assist with documentation review, coding (CPT, ICD-9, ICD-10), and ensure accurate medical billing.
Answer multi-line phone systems professionally with excellent phone etiquette; handle inquiries related to appointments, billing, or general clinic information.
Maintain organized medical records, file documents systematically, and support office management tasks such as filing, data entry, and inventory management.
Support clinical staff with intake procedures, care plan documentation, and basic administrative tasks related to patient care.
Experience
Previous experience working in a medical office setting or dental/clinic environment is highly preferred.
Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems.
Strong understanding of medical terminology, ICD-10 coding standards, CPT coding procedures, and Medicare guidelines.
Proven ability in medical billing and collections along with insurance verification processes.
Excellent computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel), typing (10 key), and office management software.
Demonstrated customer service skills with a professional demeanor; experience handling front desk duties in healthcare settings is advantageous.
Knowledge of HIPAA compliance standards and health information management practices is required.
Prior hospital or clinic experience involving medical scheduling, documentation review, or care plan coordination will be considered an asset.
