Controller

Position Title: Controller Location: Atlanta, GA Reports To: Chief Financial Officer Employment Type: Full-Time Position Description: The Controller is responsible for Accounting, Tax, Banking, A/R and A/P functions. This position manages multiple (7-10) professionals and outside service providers. This individual reports directly to the Chief Financial Officer (CFO). Key Responsibilities:Planning, directing and coordinating all Accounting operational functions including A/R, A/P and TaxCoordinates and prepares the US GAAP accounting for 2 held subsidiaries and consolidation of HoldCo business resultsConducts monthly financial statement variance reviews with key stakeholdersCoordinates activities of external auditors and tax services providersProvides management with information vital to the decision-making processAssesses current accounting operations, offering recommendations for process and systems improvementsOwns controls over payables, receivable and cash managementMaintains intercompany/cost-center accounting and allocationsEvaluates the effectiveness of accounting systems, supports migrations, updates and integrationsMaintains A/R aging and works closely w/ General Counsel to escalate billing disputesMonitors bank account balances and investment activity to support operationsOversees tax compliance and reporting Skills and Abilities:Expert knowledge of US GAAP - CPA PreferredPrior experience managing A/P, A/R and Tax functions highly desirableComfortable performing and prioritizing multifaceted projects in conjunction with day-to-day activitiesComfortable working in a highly demanding start-up environment and takes pride in building processes and systems for an emerging, fast-changing organizationExcellent interpersonal abilities: Ability to get along with diverse personalities, internal and external stakeholders including investors.
