Quality Engineer - E2
Overview
As a Quality Engineer at Lockheed Martin, you will drive product and process quality across design, production, and supplier interfaces. You’ll apply quality principles to ensure compliance with AS9100 and contract requirements while supporting advanced manufacturing initiatives. You’ll analyze data, investigate root causes, and lead corrective actions to prevent recurrence. This role combines cross-functional collaboration with rigorous quality assurance to deliver mission-critical solutions.

ResponsibilitiesIdentify root causes and corrective actions for process/product performance issues, coordinating with engineering and productionEvaluate disposition of nonconforming hardware and analyze defect data for systemic trendsContribute to QA tasking planning to support labor estimates on ECPs and proposalsVerify systems meet requirements and present to customers for acceptanceSupport and execute strategies for rolling out advanced manufacturing (Additive Manufacturing, Rapid Prototyping, Lean)Perform data validation, statistical analysis, and present Quality metrics as part of the QMSConduct process audits per internal processes and AS9100 standards
Key requirementsBachelor’s degree or equivalent experienceQuality Engineering skills related to electro-mechanical assembly, including interpreting drawings/procedures and developing inspection processesRoot Cause Analysis using structured methods (DUO, FTA, Fishbone, DOE)Experience with audits (third party/customer) and First Article Inspections (FAI)Proficiency with MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and ability to obtain a secret clearanceExcellent communication skillsAbility to interface with multiple stakeholdersAbility to work in cross-functional teamsData analysis and trend monitoringQuality engineering for electro-mechanical assembly1+ years in quality engineering
