Our client is seeking an experienced SQL Developer with strong Python scripting skills to support advanced healthcare analytics and reporting initiatives. This is an excellent opportunity for a data professional who enjoys transforming complex clinical and claims data into meaningful business insights. The ideal candidate will have deep experience with SQL, Python, Power BI, and healthcare data, particularly CMS programs, CCLF claims, and EMR data. This is not a Data Engineer position.CompensationSalary: $130,000 – $150,000 annuallyPosition OverviewOur client is looking for a highly analytical SQL Developer to build scalable data models, develop reporting solutions, and deliver actionable insights that support value-based care initiatives. The successful candidate will partner closely with business and clinical stakeholders to design dashboards, optimize reporting, and improve decision-making across the organization.Key ResponsibilitiesPerform retrospective analyses to measure outcomes including length of stay (LOS), readmissions, mortality, reimbursement, and quality metrics.Design and develop end-to-end data models utilizing clinical and healthcare claims data.Write, optimize, and maintain efficient, reusable SQL code to support business reporting and analytics.Develop and maintain Power BI dashboards and reports utilizing EMR, CCLF claims, HIE, Salesforce, and other healthcare data sources.Collaborate with cross-functional business and technical teams to define reporting requirements and deliver scalable solutions.Create meaningful visualizations and executive-level reporting to support strategic decision-making.Ensure reporting solutions are accurate, reliable, and high-performing.Stay current with emerging technologies and best practices in healthcare analytics.Participate in peer code reviews and contribute to continuous process improvement.Maintain compliance with HIPAA and other applicable healthcare regulations.Required QualificationsBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline (or equivalent experience).6+ years of experience supporting Medicare Shared Savings Program (MSSP) or similar Value-Based Care initiatives.Strong expertise working with CCLF claims data and EMR data structures.Advanced SQL development experience.Python scripting experience.Experience with Azure SQL, Microsoft SQL Server, and MySQL.Strong Power BI development and healthcare reporting experience.Working knowledge of backend technologies such as Node.js, Python, Ruby, Java, or .NET.Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.Ability to work onsite in Costa Mesa, CA, 1–2 days per week (based on manager discretion).Preferred QualificationsExperience supporting CMS Value-Based Care programs, including MSSP and ACO initiatives.Knowledge of Azure Data Factory, Azure SQL, MySQL, and Microsoft SQL Server.Experience with healthcare interoperability standards such as HL7 and FHIR.Familiarity with DevOps tools including Docker, Kubernetes, Jenkins, and GitHub.Experience working within Agile development environments.Exposure to AI, Large Language Models (LLMs), and emerging healthcare technology solutions.This position offers the opportunity to join a collaborative healthcare organization focused on improving patient outcomes through advanced data analytics, reporting, and technology-driven insights.
