Commercial Sales Regional Sales Manager

POSITION PURPOSE
The Regional Sales Manager will function as the main interface with customers while marketing and selling SSAB steel products in support of company goals.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Planning and Forecasting
Develop territory sales forecasts and plans for long-term growth
Conduct pricing analyses and cost-benefit comparisons with regard to market competitors
Identify opportunities for development of new customers
Develop sales and growth plans for existing accounts
Sales
Manage accounts through SSAB’s automated sales system
Conduct sales calls and obtain product orders
Build and maintain meaningful customer relationships
Develop and maintain a clear understanding of customer needs
Identify and present products to address customer needs
Investigate and resolve claims issues
Utilize full scope of company resources to facilitate sales and presentations
Communication
Employ a team-focused approach with internal customers and support staff
Communicate with inside sales personnel in support of departmental goals and customer needs
Anticipate customer needs and resolve customer issues
Obtain customer feedback and distribute to appropriate customer personnel
Conduct seminars and presentations as required
Create and submit required reports in a timely manner
QUALIFICATIONS
Competencies and Experience
Required:
Five (5) years of outside sales experience in a related product field
Advanced and highly effective written and verbal communication skills
Advanced computer skills with MS Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint
Excellent organizational, administrative and time-management skills
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
Proven market development, sales, negotiation and closing ability
Self-motivated and self-directed
Strong personal integrity and interpersonal skills
Preferred:
Knowledge of SSAB products, services, processes and capabilities
Broad industry specific product knowledge
Education
Required:
Associate's degree in Business, Sales, Marketing or related field
Preferred:
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Sales, Marketing or related field
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES / DIRECT REPORTS
This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

POSITION TYPE/EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK/TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS
Position is full time, exempt
Travel 50% of time in the field or at other SSAB locations
Good driving record and proper ID for air travel
