Staff Accountant
We are seeking a Staff Accountant to join a growing finance and accounting team at a dynamic real estate investment firm headquartered in Miami. This role offers direct exposure to senior leadership and the opportunity to support accounting operations across a multi-entity portfolio.This is a highly hands-on position where you will take ownership of key accounts, contribute to financial reporting, and play an integral role in the close process. The environment is collaborative, fast-paced, and well-suited for someone who enjoys both structure and variety.Key ResponsibilitiesGeneral Ledger & Close ProcessPrepare and record journal entries across multiple legal entitiesMaintain and reconcile balance sheet accounts (cash, receivables, payables, prepaids, accruals)Support monthly and annual close cycles, ensuring timely and accurate completionInvestigate and resolve discrepancies, providing clear analysis and recommendationsFinancial Reporting & AnalysisAssist in the preparation of monthly and quarterly financial statementsCompile supporting schedules, variance analyses, and internal management reportsPartner with internal teams to produce property-level financial reportingContribute to budgeting and forecasting processesAccounts Payable, Receivable & Cash ManagementProcess invoices and ensure proper coding, approvals, and documentationSupport receivables tracking, billing reconciliations, and cash activityPerform bank reconciliations and resolve outstanding itemsAssist with intercompany activity and cash movementsCompliance, Audit & Tax SupportMaintain accurate financial records in accordance with GAAPAssist with audit requests and year-end tax preparation supportSupport vendor documentation and reporting requirements (e.g., 1099s)Contribute to various tax and regulatory compliance processesCross-Functional CollaborationWork closely with asset management, operations, and investment teamsAssist with accounting for acquisitions, dispositions, and new entitiesSupport ad hoc reporting and special projects as neededQualificationsExperience & Education3–5 years of accounting experience; real estate, private equity, or multi-entity environments preferredStrong understanding of general ledger accounting and close processesBachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related fieldCPA track or certification is a plusSkills & AttributesSolid knowledge of GAAP and practical applicationHigh attention to detail and strong organizational skillsAbility to manage multiple priorities and deadlines effectivelyStrong communication skills and team-oriented mindsetProactive, self-motivated, and solutions-drivenTechnical SkillsAdvanced Excel skills (formulas, pivot tables, etc.)Experience with accounting systems such as Yardi, NetSuite, Sage, or similarAbility to learn new tools and systems quickly
