Senior Environment Health Safety Specialist
Summary of Position:The principal role of Senior EHS Specialist is responsible for leading, developing, and implementing comprehensive EHS programs that ensure regulatory compliance, reduce organizational risk, and promote a proactive safety culture. This role provides advanced technical expertise in safety, environmental compliance, ergonomics, incident investigations, training, and continuous improvement initiatives. Corporate:Adheres to the HTGSS policies and proceduresLearns, demonstrates and upholds HTGSS Core ValuesComplies with all HTGSS Certification standards; Management System (TS16949), Environmental ISO 14001-2015 and Health and Safety ISO 45001-2018 policies and proceduresTreats all HTGSS team members with respect and professional courtesyAlways strives to maintain a positive work environmentManages the department budget efficiently as per approved annual budgetPerforms additional assignments / duties as assigned EHS:Adhere to all safety policies and proceduresComply with all safety policies and 5S clean philosophy to maintain a safe, clean working environmentMeets company safety goals Duties and Responsibilities:Lead all EHS requirements as an example for others to followCreate a culture of awareness, acceptance & adherence to the EHS requirementsInspects the facility to identify safety, health, and environmental risksSchedule routine inspections, and implement training according to findingsDevelop, coordinate, implement, and maintain appropriate Health, Safety, Environmental, Industrial and Process Safety ProgramsAudit, analyze and collate EHS performance data and propose effective improvementsPerform facility audits, surveys and inspections to identify environmental and occupational hazards, to ensure compliance with applicable regulation process improvement Manage SDS data-ensure safety in material handling Track compliance and managing workers compensation and drug screening programsProactively meets KPI requirements to reduce exposure and control risksEnsure any hazardous waste-oil hydraulic fluid is disposed correctly. Education:Bachelor of Science in Safety, Environmental or associate degree in EHS or equivalent experience Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or equivalent certifications Position Requirements and Qualifications1-3 years EHS experience in a manufacturing environment 1-3 years in an EHS leadership/management role is ideal Experience at an Automotive OEM and/or Tier 1 supplier is helpful Must have knowledge of OSHA, DOT, EPA, NFPA, and Hazwoper requirements Experience in rick management, ergonomics, personal protective equipment, industrial safety, injury and incident investigations, reporting and auditing and training Successful track record of designing and managing employees’ safety, worker’s compensation and drug screening programsKnowledge and ability to implement process improvements and programsKnowledge of automotive plants and processes/principles, company products, trade terminology and manufacturing Experience in a corporate and/or multi-site manufacturing setting experience Ability to read and interpret training related documents for both office and production environments such as technical data, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manualsTechnical/ Computer Skills:Proficient in Microsoft, Power point, Excel, OutlookProficient in SAPThis Position Description is intended as a summary of the job responsibilities for this position.
