By investing in our employees and fostering open communication, we create an environment that supports long-term relationships—with both our team and our clients.Position OverviewBowers is seeking an Entry‑Level Shop Equipment Maintenance Technician to support the upkeep and reliability of our fabrication equipment. This position is ideal for someone with mechanical aptitude who is eager to learn and grow in a fast‑paced sheet metal and piping fabrication environment. Training will be provided.Key Responsibilities Assist with maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of fabrication equipment, including:Press brakesShearsLaser, plasma, or waterjet cutting machinesRoll formers and coil‑fed equipmentWelding and forming equipmentPipe cutters and sawsPie benders and rollersPipe Threading and grooving machinesFit up and alignment toolsWelding equipment used for pipe fabricationPerform preventive maintenance tasks such as lubrication, inspections, and cleaningIdentify and report mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, or pneumatic issuesAssist with tooling changes and basic machine setup supportFollow maintenance schedules and document completed workWork closely with operators, supervisors, and senior maintenance techniciansMaintain a clean, organized, and safe work areaDesired Skills And Experience Education & Credentials High school diploma or GED requiredTechnical or trade school coursework preferredExperience 0–2 years of experience in manufacturing, fabrication, or equipment maintenanceTechnical & Professional SkillsSheet metal or piping fabrication shop experience is a plus but not requiredMechanical aptitude and basic hand‑tool knowledgeBasic understanding of industrial equipment and machineryWillingness to learn electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systemsAbility to read basic drawings, manuals, and maintenance instructionsDependable, punctual, and safety‑focusedExposure to CNC‑controlled fabrication equipment preferredBasic pipe welding or pipe fitting exposure preferredForklift or overhead crane familiarity preferredExperience using maintenance logs or CMMS systems preferredSafety RequirementsAbility to follow Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) and shop safety proceduresWillingness to wear required PPE (safety glasses, gloves, hearing protection)Comfortable working around heavy machinery and sharp metal materialsPhysical RequirementsAbility to stand and walk for extended periodsAbility to lift up to 50 lbsComfortable working in a fabrication shop environment with noise, dust, oils, and varying temperaturesAdditional InformationThis position is based on Beltsville, MD.No sponsorship is available for this position.Hourly rate: $20.00 to $35.00 per hourAbout LegenceLegence (Nasdaq: LGN) is a leading provider of engineering, consulting, installation, and maintenance services for mission-critical systems in buildings.
