Equipment Maintenance Technician (Sr/Jr Levels)
Piper Companies is hiring multiple Equipment Maintenance Technician (Sr/Jr) (s) to support day-to-day building and facility operations within a GMP-regulated environment out of Silver Spring, MD. This role will focus on general maintenance, building rounds, fit-and-finish repairs, and rapid response to facility issues, while ensuring a safe, functional, and compliant workplace.
Responsibilities of the Equipment Maintenance Technician
Perform daily building rounds to monitor facility condition, identify issues, and ensure operational readiness
Execute general maintenance and fit/finish repairs (doors, fixtures, walls, ceilings, flooring, minor repairs)
Respond to and resolve facility and building issues including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical concerns
Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on building systems and equipment
Support basic HVAC operations, including troubleshooting, filter changes, and coordination of repairs
Document work activity using CMMS systems, ensuring accurate records and follow-up
Qualifications of the Equipment Maintenance Technician
1-5+ years experience working as a Facilities Technician, Maintenance Technician, Handyman, Building Services or related role
Hands-on experience maintaining HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical systems
Ability to independently troubleshoot and respond to building system issues
Experience working in pharmaceutical, biotech, or regulated laboratory environment is strongly preferred
Experience with Building Management Systems (BMS)
Familiarity with CMMS systems and electronic work order tracking
Willingness to participate in on-call rotation, as needed
Understanding of working within regulated environments
OSHA, EPA, HVAC, Plumbing, NCCER, CMRT (Certified Maintenance & Reliability Technician), CFT, Certified Facilities Technician, Facilities Management Professional (FMP), Boiler Certification desired (not required)
Compensation for the Equipment Maintenance Technician
Salary: $20.00/hr - $45.00/hr commensurate with experience (based on years of relevant experience) *Hiring Senior & Mid-Level Technicians
