This role manages work orders from release through close, aligns production schedules with customer requirements, and leads program purchasing in partnership with commodity buyers. The Program Coordinator is the day-to-day link between Materials, Production, Quality, Engineering, Shipping & Receiving, and Program Management, running status meetings and reporting order status to keep programs on cost, quality, and schedule. This is an exempt, on-site position in Livonia, Michigan.Main ResponsibilitiesCoordinate and monitor day-to-day work across Customer Service, Production, Machining, Inspection, and Shipping & Receiving to keep assigned programs on scheduleReview sales orders and production schedules to determine material, capacity, and production requirementsPlan and set work schedules, assignments, and production sequences, adjusting as needed to protect customer delivery datesCreate, track, and close work orders, ensuring all labor, material, and outside processing costs are accurately capturedUpdate work orders and related records when engineering changes are authorizedReview finished goods, work-in-process, and purchased component inventory against customer requirements; reconcile discrepancies and correct ERP recordsRemove scrapped assemblies and components from inventory records and assess the impact on open work ordersLead purchasing for assigned programs with commodity buyers: solicit quotes, negotiate pricing, and secure materials and outside processing services that meet quality, cost, and delivery targetsExpedite raw material, purchased components, and outside processing to support production schedulesMonitor production and repair work for completeness, accuracy, and conformance to specifications at each phaseInitiate overhaul, warranty, and repair orders and hand them off to the appropriate Program ManagerRun daily and weekly program status meetings and provide order status updates to managers and departmentsWork with supervisors to coordinate activities within and between departmentsFollow ITAR, AS9100 quality system, and safety requirements, including required PPE on the production floor⚑ HR/HM INPUT NEEDED: Confirm Beaver’s ERP system name (legacy JD referenced Oracle, which came from the HDI Landing Gear version). Delete this note before posting.Our Ideal CandidateAssociate’s or bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Operations, Business, or a related field5+ years of plant-level materials management experience in a manufacturing environmentWorking knowledge of production planning, inventory control, work order management, purchasing principles and policies, and general contractsHands-on experience managing work orders, inventory, and purchasing in an ERP/MRP systemProven program or project management skills and the ability to juggle multiple priorities in a high-visibility roleStrong problem-solving, math, and critical thinking skillsClear communicator who is comfortable leading meetings and working across departmentsProficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint)Able to work in an industrial manufacturing setting with required PPE and travel occasionally to other company facilitiesAuthorized to work in the United States without sponsorshipAerospace & defense or AS9100 manufacturing experience is a plusExperience with precision machined components and outside processing (e.g., heat treat, grinding, plating) is a plusAPICS/ASCM certification (CPIM or CSCP) is a plusWork Culture And EnvironmentAre you known as an innovation driver?
