POSITION SUMMARY
Responsible for leading brand / category project development and marketing activities to improve market share and profit for assigned brand(s) and/or categories (National Brands support). Generate insights to create marketing plans to drive business growth.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Identify and analyze growth opportunities; collaborate with R&D team to develop new products
Develop, manage, implement and support marketing plans and strategies including but not limited to, new product development, promotional campaigns and market research; analyze pricing strategy to align with margin objectives; measure effectiveness of plans; recommend strategy redirection
Lead the packaging design process in collaboration with internal designers, Central Marketing and third party-vendors, for design changes and marketing materials including but not limited to sales collateral, newsletters, campaigns, and POS
Manage and measure brand / category promotional plans; ensure improvement of key brand / category indicator including but not limited to brand / category awareness, trial and loyalty
Develop, plan and track brand / category advertising; research & promote investment to ensure adherence to allocated budget and efficient allocation of resources; track financial goals across a brand / category portfolio; establish and maintain consistent brand / category image throughout all product lines, promotional materials, events and all brand / category communication
Conduct category insights; understand market trends and analyze competitive environment to segment, target and position marketing brand / category; make recommendations based on findings
Manage the day-to-day relationship with advertising agency and third party vendors
Provide trade marketing resources and metrics to support a successful execution of new product launch
Track brand / category Advertising, Research & Promotional investment to ensure adherence to allocated budget and ensures invoices get processed in a timely manner
Research and analyze to recommend optimal pricing strategy including but not limited to market trends, market dynamics, competitive set and product elasticity behavior
Other duties as assigned
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelors in Marketing, Business or related field or equivalent experience
Five (5) years’ experience in brand / category management
Preferred Qualifications
Master's Degree in Business Administration
Experience in the business planning process, P&L dynamics, consumer segmentation, targeting and positioning as well as consumer insight development
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITITES (KSA’s)
Proficient with Microsoft Office, including skills with Outlook, Word, PowerPoint and Excel
Proven knowledge of syndicated databases, i.e., Nielsen/IRI; ability to process and analyze and disseminate data for presentations
Proven understanding of consumer needs, market trends and competitive environment to segment, target and position the brand / category
Experience with creating and managing partnership with Sales, R&D, and Customer Development, teams and interacting assigned brand / category marketing and licensing teams
Excellent communication, interpersonal and customer service skills, including the ability to write in a clear and concise manner
Ability to build professional relationships with cross functional teams while facilitating a collaborative environment.
ENVIRONMENTAL/WORKING CONDITIONS
Able to travel up to 10% of the time, including overnight stays for up to 5 days at a time.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Usual office environment with frequent sitting, walking, and standing, and occasional climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, and balancing. Frequent use of eye, hand, and finger coordination enabling the use of office machinery. Oral and auditory capacity enabling interpersonal communication as well as communication through automated devices such as the telephone.
