Database Analyst/Programmer

Database Analyst/ProgrammerUnder general direction, leads and participates in the development and maintenance of database systems while also providing database development services to the development team. Required to review and provide technical solutions to projects which may be in different stages of the development life cycle. As part of consulting activities, produces database-related analyses and technical documentation to support recommended solutions. Performs all functional duties independently. Works on high-visibility programs, or mission critical aspects of assigned program(s). Oversees the efforts of direct reporting resources and/or is responsible for the efforts of all staff assigned to a specific job.Required Skills:A minimum of eight (8) years experience in software development, database design, database administration, and/or related field;5+ years of advanced working skills with Oracle Applications (E-Business Suite) R12 in AR, GL, OM, INV, SLA, WSH and PO modulesOracle Application 12.2.7 Upgrade experience6+ years of expert experience working with a relational database using SQL/PLSQL skillsSignificant knowledge and experience in all aspects of enterprise-level analytics, operations support, and reportingAdvanced experience developing and writing requirements according to standard templates including data needs and business rules.Experience with performance tuning to ensure acceptable report execution times, including validation of report SQLPreferred Skills:Able to adhere to client development standards and SOX complianceAbility to communicate to a wide variety of audiences, both business and technicalProven ability to develop and maintain system documentationDemonstrated ability to work independently with minimal directionJava experience a plusAdditional Required Skills/Experience:A minimum of eight (8) years experience in software development, database design, database administration, and/or related field;A degree from an accredited College/University in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or related discipline is preferred;Able to perform all functional duties independently on high-visibility programs, or mission critical aspects of a given program;Able to oversee the efforts of direct reporting resources and/or be responsible for the efforts of all staff assigned to a specific job;Experience training/mentoring less experienced personnel;Extensive knowledge of and experience with designing, constructing, and maintaining large relational database systems;Extensive experience with Oracle or MS SQL Server DBMS, SQL Language, Unix/Linux including basic shell commands, data warehousing, report generation, job scheduling and monitoring tools, XML, HTML, open source development, and technical documenting skills (Windows Office/Visio/Cvs, etc.);Advanced Oracle or Microsoft SQL Server certification required;Extensive experience producing database-related documentation such as technical analyses and technical designs;Additional Provisions:All candidates must be a US Citizen or have permanent residence status (Green Card).Candidate must have lived in the US for the past 5 years.Cannot have more than 6 months travel outside the United States within the last five years. Military Service excluded. (Exception does not include military family members.)The enforced dress code is business casual, i.e. collared shirt with slacks for men, no skirts above the knee for women.Place and Period of Performance:Hours of support: The standard work week for contract staff will be 5 days a week and 8 hours per day preferable Monday through Friday. Contract staff may be required to travel to support business efforts.
