Project Manager- Permanent Position- Richmond VAAbout The RoleThe Project Manager leads multiple moderate-complexity projects across several customers, managing projects from planning through execution to ensure on-time, on-budget, and high-quality delivery. This role works closely with cross-functional teams including R&D, Supply Chain, Operations, Engineering, and Sales to support product launches, technical transfers, and continuous improvement initiatives. The position may also provide guidance and mentorship to junior team members.Key ResponsibilitiesProject Management & ExecutionManage a portfolio of 5–10 projects annually across multiple customersLead projects from initiation through completion, ensuring timelines, budgets, and quality goals are achievedConduct feasibility assessments to evaluate project risks, resource requirements, and overall viabilityDefine project scope, objectives, deliverables, and timelines with customers and internal stakeholdersServe as the primary point of contact for project stakeholders and customer communicationsTrack project performance metrics such as on-time delivery, customer service, and right-first-time executionMonitor project costs, including trial expenses and launch-related costs, to support profitability goalsPlanning & Supply Chain CoordinationDevelop and maintain detailed project schedules, milestones, and dependenciesCoordinate resource planning and prioritize activities to support project timelinesPartner with supply chain and quality teams to identify and mitigate material or production risksAnalyze production schedules, lead times, and capacity constraints to communicate realistic project timelinesChange Management & Risk MitigationLead change management activities, including impact assessments and communication plansFacilitate cross-functional discussions and collaborative decision-makingDevelop contingency plans related to supply, capacity, quality, or operational risksConduct post-project reviews and capture lessons learned to support continuous improvementTechnical & Cross-Functional SupportAct as a liaison between technical teams and stakeholders to ensure alignment on project goals and requirementsSupport integration of new technologies, processes, or systems when applicableCollaborate with engineering, operations, quality, and other departments to ensure successful project execution and acceptance testingQuality & ComplianceEnsure compliance with cGMP, safety standards, and company proceduresIdentify and proactively manage quality and safety risksMaintain accurate project documentation and recordsSupport training and mentorship of junior team members on project management and compliance best practicesQualificationsEducation & ExperienceBachelor’s degree in Science, Engineering, Operations, Business, or a related field3–6 years of project management experience in a manufacturing or production environmentProven ability to manage projects successfully with strong focus on schedule, cost, and quality performanceExperience supporting new product development and stage-gate processesExposure to packaging, manufacturing, processing, or production operations, preferably in consumer goods, personal care, pharmaceutical, or related industriesTechnical SkillsExperience with project management tools such as Microsoft Project, Smartsheet, Monday.com, Jira, or similar platformsStrong Microsoft Office skills, especially Excel, Word, and PowerPointExperience with ERP systems such as SAP and understanding of MRP concepts is preferredPreferred QualificationsPMP, CAPM, or equivalent project management certificationLean Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certificationBilingual skills in French or Spanish are a plusCore SkillsStrong leadership, organization, and communication skillsAbility to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environmentStrong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilitiesEffective collaboration across cross-functional teams and customer groupsDetail-oriented with strong focus on execution and continuous improvement#P1As part of our promise to talent, Kelly supports those who work with us through a variety of benefits, perks, and work-related resources.
