Physician Assistant - Urgent Care/Emergency | Evening & 32 Hours/Weekly

Job Summary: Provide high-quality, efficient, team-based, patient-centered care under the supervision of a physician. Manage patients in office, hospital, emergency department, or perioperative settings. Perform department-specific procedures and may assist in surgeries as First Assist. Facilitate on-call duties as assigned. Work schedule may include evenings and weekends based on departmental needs. Work Schedule Details: Work Schedule: 32 hours/week. Week 1 schedule: Sunday, Monday, Thursday, and Friday. Week 2 schedule: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Saturday. Job Overview: Provide high quality, efficient, team-based, patient-focused care under physician supervision. Perform patient evaluations, including physical exams, compiling health histories, and documenting medical data. Order and interpret diagnostic tests such as lab work, imaging studies, and electrocardiograms. Conduct therapeutic procedures, including injections, immunizations, suturing, wound care, and infection management. Develop and implement patient management plans, keep accurate progress notes, and help ensure continuity of care. Educate and counsel patients on therapeutic regimens, health maintenance, family planning, and emotional well-being. May facilitate admissions, transfers, and discharges according to department needs. May assist in surgeries or perform specialty procedures according to training and department requirements. Complete admission evaluations by gathering medical history, reviewing records, performing examinations, and documenting findings. Provide pre-operative and peri-operative education to patients and families, and answer questions about procedures, recovery, and risk factors. ssist with surgical procedures as permitted, including first assisting, IV placement, and suturing. Monitor post-operative patients, enter appropriate orders, assist with patient recovery, and review lab and diagnostic studies. Facilitate safe and timely patient discharge, including preparation of discharge and transfer summaries. Work hours may include evenings or weekends based on department and physician scheduling. Minimum Qualifications: Graduate of an ARC-PA accredited physician assistant program. Physician Assistant License (California). Physician Assistant National Certificate. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification. National Provider Identifier (NPI). If working in Orthopedics, Interventional Radiology, or Radiation Oncology: Fluoroscopy Permit required or must be obtained within 18 months. bility to work in a collaborative, team-based environment. Strong skills in examining patients, compiling medical data, ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests, performing therapeutic procedures, developing management plans, and providing patient education. Additional Details: Regular, full-time position. No travel or relocation available. 10% sign-on bonus offered. No visa sponsorship available.
