EKS / Kubernetes Memory Optimization Engineer
Job Summary We are seeking an experienced EKS/Kubernetes Engineer to drive memory optimization across large-scale AWS environments. The role will focus on Kubernetes cluster optimization, resource right-sizing, memory utilization, and improving workload and infrastructure efficiency in production environments. Key Responsibilities • Manage AWS EKS/Kubernetes cluster lifecycles, including node groups, autoscaling, and overall cluster optimization. • Optimize Kubernetes resource requests and limits, HPA, VPA, Cluster Autoscaler, and Karpenter configurations. • Perform memory optimization, resource right-sizing, bin-packing, and node consolidation in production environments. • Analyze Linux memory utilization, cgroups, OOM-kills, container runtime overhead, and DRAM utilization. • Monitor and analyze resource utilization using Prometheus, Grafana, kubectl top, cAdvisor, and memory profiling tools. Required Qualifications • 12+ years of professional experience in relevant engineering roles. • Strong hands-on experience with AWS EKS and Kubernetes. • Strong experience with EKS cluster lifecycle management, node groups, autoscaling, and cluster optimization. • Expertise in Kubernetes resource requests and limits, HPA, VPA, Cluster Autoscaler, and Karpenter. • Production experience with memory optimization, resource right-sizing, bin-packing, and node consolidation. • Strong understanding of Linux memory, cgroups, OOM-kills, container runtime overhead, and DRAM utilization. • Hands-on experience with Prometheus, Grafana, kubectl top, cAdvisor, and memory profiling.
