Preschool Instructional Assistant

Gateway Regional School District is looking for a dynamic early childhood Instructional Assistant to work in the integrated preschool classroom for Littleville Elementary School. The ideal candidate will be energetic, caring and be able to work as a team player. Responsibilities include: Working with students with limited academic, behavioral and social skills and supporting young children with a broad range of abilities, including students with disabilities. Promoting independence, social skills, and language development Willingness to be flexible with job duties Ability to take feedback and instruction from classroom teacher and therapists Professionalism around confidentiality Ability to get up and down from the ground frequently throughout the day Assisting with toilet training and diaper changing Supervision of outdoor activities Limited cleaning and disinfection of the classroom; especially with snack set up Willingness to learn You may need to perform some additional duties such as supervision of recess, bus duty, etc. This individual will provide coverage across two programs to ensure students with disabilities have the appropriate amount of support and services Qualifications: High School Diploma or equivalent; Associate’s degree or higher preferred Coursework in early childhood education preferred Experience working with young children both with and without disabilities preferred Experience with or knowledge of children with Autism preferred Knowledge of sign language is a plus although not necessary Salary Range: $17.97-$28.75 dependent upon education, experience, and placement.
