DEVELOPMENT ASSOCIATEFull Time/Part Time: Regular Full TimeTotal Hours Per Week: 35Salary: $55,000.00-$65,000.00 Work Location: Blauvelt, NY- Hybrid (In-Person & Remote)Job Summary:The Development Associate supports the fundraising and donor engagement efforts of the Communications & Development team by providing administrative, operational, and donor stewardship support. This role helps to cultivate and secure philanthropic support while ensuring strong donor relations, accurate data management, grant support, and successful execution of fundraising initiatives and events.Duties & Responsibilities:Donor Engagement & Stewardship:Support with donor stewardship, prospect management, and CRM database management.Assist in maintaining relationships with current and prospective individual, corporate, and foundation donors.Coordinate donor acknowledgment and recognition efforts, including thank-you correspondence and stewardship touchpoints.Conduct prospect research to identify and qualify new funding opportunitiesFundraising Operations & Events:Support fundraising campaigns and special events, including invitations, guest lists, event materials, logistics, and post-event follow-up.Prepare donor briefings, reports, and fundraising materials as needed.Maintain accurate donor records and track fundraising activity in CRM database.Assist with gift processing, reporting, and ensuring compliance with financial and departmental procedures. Grants Management Support:Assist with grant tracking, proposal calendars, reporting deadlines, and grant documentation.Support the preparation and submission of grant proposals, reports, and supporting materials.Conduct foundation research and help maintain grant records and prospect pipelines. Team & Administrative Support:Collaborate with Development and Communications staff to support departmental goals and initiatives.Participate in planning meetings, strategy discussions, and special projects.Perform general administrative duties and other responsibilities as assigned.Education & Experience: Associate’s degree required; bachelor’s degree preferred, ideally in nonprofit management, communications, business administration, or a related field1–3 years of experience in fundraising, development, nonprofit administration, or related experience preferred.Experience with donor databases/CRMs (GiveSmart) and event support strongly preferred.Familiarity with grant administration or proposal support is a plus.Valid, non-restricted NYS driver’s licenseKnowledge, Skills & Abilities:Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.Proficiency in Microsoft Office and donor database systems; GiveSmart experience preferred.Strong analytical and reporting skillsAbility to handle confidential information with discretion.Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.Ability to interact and complete assignments in a manner sensitive to the service population’s cultural and socioeconomic characteristics.Physical Requirements:Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.May be required to lift up to 25 pounds or more.Required to commute to other agency locations as needed.This position operates in a hybrid work environment, combining in-office and remote work based on departmental needs and supervisor approval.
