Process Engineer
A well-established automotive manufacturing company in Paris, Tennessee is seeking a hands-on Process Engineer to join our team. This position will focus on supporting and improving manufacturing processes, automated equipment, and production technology while driving improvements in safety, quality, efficiency, and equipment reliability.
We are looking for someone who enjoys being on the manufacturing floor, working directly with equipment and production teams to troubleshoot problems and develop practical solutions.
Key Responsibilities
* Support, troubleshoot, and improve automated CMI manufacturing equipment
* Provide engineering support for swedging equipment, paint booth technology, and other automated manufacturing processes
* Troubleshoot mechanical, process, and automation-related production issues
* Identify opportunities to improve cycle time, efficiency, quality, scrap, downtime, and process capability
* Assist with equipment setup, process changes, new equipment installations, and manufacturing launches
* Develop and optimize manufacturing processes, tooling, fixtures, and equipment
* Work closely with Production, Maintenance, and Quality teams to resolve manufacturing concerns
* Analyze recurring process and equipment issues and implement corrective actions
* Support continuous improvement and process standardization initiatives
* Develop and maintain process documentation, work instructions, specifications, and related engineering records
* Participate in root-cause analysis and corrective action activities
* Provide technical support and training to production personnel as needed
* Support company safety, quality, and environmental requirements
Qualifications
* Bachelor’s degree in Engineering preferred; Mechanical, Manufacturing, Industrial, Electrical, or related discipline is a plus
* Manufacturing or process engineering experience preferred
* Experience with automated manufacturing equipment, CMI machinery, swedging equipment, paint systems, robotics, PLC-controlled equipment, or similar technology is highly desirable
* Strong mechanical aptitude and hands-on troubleshooting skills
* Ability to analyze manufacturing problems and develop practical, sustainable solutions
* Knowledge of continuous improvement, root-cause analysis, and process optimization is a plus
* Automotive manufacturing experience preferred
* Familiarity with IATF 16949 or similar quality management systems is a plus
* Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills
* Ability to work effectively with operators, maintenance personnel, supervisors, and management
