Title: Lead Full Stack Engineer
Engagement: Feb – June
Role Overview
Our client is seeking a Lead Full Stack Engineer to support a telecom and contact center modernization initiative. This role will act as the onshore technical lead, working in a hybrid capacity and coordinating closely with both the internal team and a dedicated offshore development team based in India.
The primary focus is accelerating the migration from a legacy Avaya platform to NICE (CXone), enabling new 2-way SMS and converged communications capabilities under aggressive timelines.
Key Responsibilities
Serve as the hands-on technical lead for a fast-moving, high-visibility telecom modernization effort
Drive development across front-end, back-end, and API layers, with strong DevOps awareness
Lead and unblock offshore engineers; provide technical direction without heavy handholding
Partner with Product and Agile PMs to iterate quickly and deliver incremental value
Troubleshoot complex, production-impacting issues (“firefighting” when required)
Ensure engineering execution does not become a bottleneck to program milestones
Support integration of NICE CXone with downstream and legacy systems, including but not limited to IBM Z-series mainframes
Maintain high standards for code quality, testing, and operational readiness
Technical Environment
Frontend: Angular 17, TypeScript
Backend: GraphQL (Apollo Graph Router implemented at client), API development
Cloud: AWS-native stack
Telecom / Contact Center: NICE CXone, IVR flows, converged communications
Data: Legacy data routing to support transitional architectures
DevOps: CI/CD awareness, environment readiness, operational support
Required Skills & Experience
8+ years of software engineering experience, including full stack development
Strong hands-on experience with TypeScript (frontend andbackend development)
Proven experience leading distributed/offshore engineering teams
Telecom, converged communications, and/or call center platform experience strongly preferred
Experience with GraphQL, APIs, and modern cloud-native architectures
Comfortable operating autonomously in ambiguous, high-pressure environments
Ability to ramp quickly (expected NICE CXone and GraphQL ramp ~1 week)
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
DevOps mindset: understands deployment, environments, and operational risks
Success Metrics
Initial pilot delivered by end of April (single branch)
Full rollout readiness by June, avoiding Avaya renewal risk
Engineering execution enables — not delays — program milestones
High-quality, testable, maintainable code with minimal rework
