Benefits for eligible positions only include: generous paid time off, paid parental leave, Associate Assistance Program, Tuition Reimbursement Program, and more What You Will DoCollect and process blood specimens for testing and perform multiple clerical and processing functions.Sets up instruments. Maintains, cleans, and sterilizes equipment and work area following safety, cleanliness, and infection control procedures.Receives, centrifuges, accessions, processes and transports specimens. Verifies all related records. May draw and collect blood samples according to policy.Orders add-on tests, works pending lists, and resolves duplicate orders.Performs clerical duties which may include answering phones, reviewing EKGs, collecting patient demographic data for patient registration, ordering tests, reviewing Advance Beneficiary Notice of Noncoverage (ABN), data entry and filing.Education What You Will Need High School diploma equivalency or 1 year of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.Note: Required professional licensure/certification can be used in lieu of education or experience, if applicable.Additional PreferencesNo additional preferences.About UAB St. Vincent’sUAB St. Vincent’s, a proud part of UAB Medicine, is a trusted provider of health care, serving Alabama for more than 125 years.
