Senior Buyer - Frederick, MD

We're looking for a Senior Buyer to join our expanding Procurement team in Maryland. This position plays an integral role in source identification, qualification, and selection of suppliers for direct and indirect materials and services. The ideal candidate will have the potential to grow into a larger role as the department continues its expansion. This is a hybrid role requiring a few days each week in the office in Frederick, MD. Your tasks Process purchasing requests into purchase orders, maintaining communication with suppliers and internal customers, from order placement to receipt, to ensure vendor quality and schedules are metExpedite orders where necessary and update ERP system to reflect order statusInterface with production planning, warehousing, program management & other stakeholders to ensure sufficient stock availability to support uninterrupted production.Locate new sources of supply and maintain good working relationships with vendors and manufacturersReview & set up new suppliers and evaluate performance of existing suppliersIdentify opportunities to reduce cost through negotiations and supplier selectionParticipate in projects procurement and in some cases, management of sub-projects within a defined frameworkCo-operate and co-ordinate, within the scope of task, with suppliers, managers and internal customers.Support and act as backup for other team members in their tasksMaintain and enhance operational procedures to increase efficiency and productivityPerform other duties as assigned by manager Exciting insights into Rohde & Schwarz Our colleagues provide insider information about:Daily adventures and challengesOur passionate teamThe technologies behind the innovative projects and solutions Your qualifications Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain/Procurement, Materials Management, Engineering or Business and 5 years work experience or equivalent experience in lieu of Bachelor's degree.Good knowledge of negotiations, costing and PO documentationGood experience with SAP MM module and MRP.Good knowledge of technical topics in the respective material groups especially within manufacturing & integrationFamiliar with master data principlesStrong Microsoft Office software skillsExperience with purchasing multiple commodities and tasks involved in a fast-paced work environmentStrong interpersonal skills to work effectively in a team environmentDetail oriented and organized, advanced analytical and good problem-solving skillsEffective oral and written communication skills for customer/vendor relations and interfacesAble to achieve work results with minimal supervisionExperience working with WMS & inventory management is preferredThis position might require the use of information or access to hardware, which is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). Total compensation includes base salary, variable pay (when applicable) plus benefits. The range is determined by the position, geographic location and level. Individual pay within the range is determined by several factors including location, education or training, relevant work history, sales incentive structure and job-related skills.
