This individual ensures that back-office processes run smoothly, accurately, and in compliance with applicable banking regulations, internal policies, and established procedures. The Loan Operations Specialist serves as a resource for both staff and customers, with a commitment to excellence in service and operational integrity. This position is primarily performed in a standard office environment. The role may require extended hours during peak periods such as quarter or year ends.Job ResponsibilitiesOperationsHandle loan accounting and operations functions including booking loans received from various closing departments, handling accounting of fees and expenses.Process loan related invoices.Handle all loan maintenance requests received from branches/loan departments.Review and prepare participation correspondence and accounting.Review suspense reconciliations for policy exceptions and accounting errors. Correspond with branches/departments for clearing and with Internal Audit department for status updates.Assist Construction Loan Department with related loan entries disbursed to subcontractorsAssist branches with loan payments.Print and prepare daily accounts payable checksComplete customer research as requested by branches/departments.Serve as a back-up to other Accounting and Operational functions.Other duties, as assigned Team Management and DevelopmentBe an active participant of a collaborative, high-performance culture that prioritizes customer service, accuracy and accountability.Provide cross-functional support to other departments.Compliance and Risk ManagementEnsure all loan operations comply with applicable regulations. Complete SARs as required.Follow established dual-control procedures and internal controls for all sensitive operations.Assist in gathering information for internal reviews and audits.Monitor exception reports and take corrective action to resolve items in a timely manner.Required QualificationsHigh school diploma or GED required. Some college preferred.Minimum one to two years of experience in banking operations, loan operations, or a related financial services role.
