Summary:The Executive Director will lead the organization, maximize current opportunities, and continue to build a strong foundation to ensure sustainability and growth by developing strategies to recruit both potential students and faculty members. Among other duties and responsibilities, he/she will manage the daily operations of Forever Learning, participate in the development of the curriculum, and ensure the financial viability of the organization.This position is full-time and operates out of the South Bend Location. The successful candidate will report to the Board of Directors, supervise the work of an Office Assistant and Volunteers, and will embrace and support the vision of lifelong learning. He/she will be results oriented and function as a mission-driven communicator with demonstrated ability to inform and engage both internal and external constituents Responsibilities:1. Semester creation and scheduling classes for two 10-week semesters annually:· Volunteer instructor recruitment and support· Classroom scheduling and creation of printed Course Guide and online catalog· Maintain physical space.2. Supervisory and Financial Management:· Oversee hiring and training of Forever Learning staff· Maintain accurate financial records using QuickBooks online· Maintain relationships and communications with vendors and partners· Maintain accurate databases of instructors, students, donors, and sponsors3. Board Collaboration: · Keep the Board informed of operations including attending all formal meetings of the Forever Learning Board of Directors· Assist the Board with the development of the strategic plan for the Institute and assume a leading role in the plan execution4. Forever Learning Travel: · Identify and organize local and international travel opportunities appropriate for senior adults engaged in lifelong learning, often working with third-party travel partners. · Publicize, and occasionally travel with Forever Learning students to assist them in navigating the trip.5. Donor Relations: In Collaboration with the Development Committee· Develop and maintain positive relationships with current and potential donors.· Ensure prompt and personalized acknowledgment of donations. 6. Fundraising:· Support the planning and execution of fundraising campaigns and initiatives.· Develop fundraising materials including solicitation letters, emails, and online campaigns.· Conduct research on potential grant opportunities and assist in the grant application process.7. Event Planning: · Organize, coordinate, and promote two annual fundraising events, including logistics, volunteer management, and post-event evaluations. 8. Marketing and Communications:· Develop and implement marketing campaigns to raise awareness of the organization. · Manage the website and Facebook account and create engaging content to promote the organization's initiatives.· Write and distribute monthly e-newsletter via Constant Contact.· Coordinate the creation of print and digital marketing materials, such as brochures, flyers, and newsletters. Required Qualifications • Undergraduate degree in nonprofit management, education, administration, business, or communications, or a related field.• Five (5) or more years of managerial experiencePreferred Qualifications:• Experience in staff supervision, budgeting, compliance, marketing, fundraising, and donor relations. Core Competencies:• Public speaking and relationship building skills.• Exceptional organizational and time management expertise.• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.• Familiarity with non-profit organizations and their unique marketing and fundraising needs.• Experience with grant writing (preferred).Technical Skills:Proficient computer skills with applications including Microsoft Office Suite and Google. Database experience a plus.
